Prague – Light and shadow in one of the world’s most haunted cities

November 28, 2014

Prague always is worth visiting. So close, pretty and reasonably priced – there’s no excuse not to go there from time to time. The tourist crowd in the Old Town gets a bit annoying after a while, but it’s all about timing. Early morning is a good time to walk on Charles Bridge almost by yourself. As the city is known for its haunted locations, ghost hunting and underground tours are also good ways to see some quiet corners and listen to interesting stories at the same time. Although a lot of shops and restaurants are the standard tourist fare, you still can get good hotel deals, hearty Bohemian meals (of course cheap beer!) and – I know, not very typical – decent Thai massage! After a guided bicycle tour and walking through hundreds of medieval lanes, bridges and castles you’ll appreciate that 😉 Prague is fun, beautiful and affordable – I think hardly any other city gives you that much value for your money.

But first, beer and pork knuckle!

Hi, thanks for checking out my blog.
I agree Prague is always worth a visit, sadly Australia is a lot further away than Austria! Still it is one of our favourite cities to visit. Love your opening photo! Cheers, Mark

Thank you, I enjoyed your photos too! Australia is a bit far indeed, on the other hand you have lots of other amazing places close by! Hope I can visit one day!

A lovely city. (I think I remember the “hanging man”…) Good choice.
Which is next? Paris? Rome? London?

It is. Budapest I don’t know yet. I understand it is beautiful too. One more city to visit. 😉
